What is Christmas all about?

While trying to get through the rush and bustle of the busy holiday season I’m reminded of the true meaning of Christmas. And yet, so as not to offend anyone in their religious beliefs, I’ve debated on whether or not to express my own beliefs.
Why is it that I feel I must separate my core belief system from my work, when I continue to be bombarded with everyone else’s blogs expressing their Hinduism, Buddhism and especially Universalism beliefs?
The thing is, I cannot separate them. It is part of me and my very life – the reason I get up and take a breath every day. I cannot talk about Christmas and then not talk about the Savior; Christ, coming to take our place. The One who rescued us not only from sin (our fire insurance, if you will), but the very One who came to give us life, and life eternal.
As the old tavern song says “I once was lost but now I’m found, was blind – but now I see”. This is what Christmas means to me. A Savior came to take our place and put us back in right relationship with our Father in Heaven. Something we could never attain in and of our own strength or effort.
See, it’s not about what we do or don’t do (all the rules and regulations people and the law put on us), it’s about accepting Him who came and took our place. He Himself, fulfills the law for and in us. He is grace, unmerited and undeserved favor, who came to a people who could never attain what He came to do.
What an awesome Christmas present! He is not just our fire insurance,

I can hear you now asking, “What does this have to do with caregiving?”
The answer – Philippians 4:13 says positively, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” All things. Through Christ. In Jesus, everything is possible.
He is the reason for the season. He is the peace and rest provided for any and all situations….
Well said my friend!
May your Christmas be Blessed with the peace, love and joy found in a Savior born in a barn and put to death on a cross for your sins and mine.
PRAISE GOD!
